Mom Beaten By Girls Outside HS, Was There To Complain About Bullies

After a concerned mother walked into a California school, she was viciously attacked by a group of teen girls, and they beat her unconscious. However, despite the horrific nature of the incident, the school’s response has only made matters worse.

Just four months after having a baby, Maria Guadalupe Jimenez headed to James Logan High School in Union City to address the issue her daughter had been having with school bullies for nearly a year. Accompanied by her husband, Eder Rojas, her 16-year-old daughter, and her 4-month-old infant, the concerned mother hoped to speak with the principal. Unfortunately, she never even made it into the school.

Standing just outside the entrance were her daughter’s bullies. As the family approached the doors, a group of teenage girls rushed toward the family, shouting threats in an effort to stop them from reporting the abuse to the principal, according to KGO.

“They started screaming at us, ‘What you wanna do? Who’s going to fight first,'” said parent Eder Rojas.

Fearing that the girls would once again attack his daughter, Rojas blocked the teens from getting to the 16-year-old girl. However, once they realized that they couldn’t take on the protective father, they turned their sights toward the defenseless Jimenez.

Police say that at least two of the teen girls jumped Jimenez, brutally beating her to a bloody pulp. When Rojas attempted to pull the bullies off of his wife, the teens launched an attack on his oldest daughter, leaving the dad unable to defend both of his family members simultaneously.

“The girl was very furious, they grabbed by the hair and dragged me,” said Maria Jimenez through a translator.

Rojas told KRON that the teens eventually knocked out his wife, leaving her lying unconscious in a pool of blood as he tried to protect his daughters. Jimenez suffered lacerations, bruising, and a broken nose. She was nearly unrecognizable due to being covered in blood.

“They want to hit my daughter but I cover a lot that they didn’t they couldn’t get there so they grabbed my wife,” Rojas said. “She has the bones broken right here, she has the eyes all red a bump here. I feel really angry, sad at the same time.”

Jimenez explained that the teens were instantly “very furious” at the sight of them with their daughter and that she was “grabbed by the hair and dragged” before being knocked unconscious. Her injuries left her hospitalized for two days.

“I just wanted to talk to the principal,” she said. “You’d never imagine a kid would hit an adult, I thought we were safe on campus.”

The school sparked outrage by only agreeing to take “disciplinary actions.” (Photo Credit: Screenshot)

Since the attack, the school’s response has sparked outrage. In an email to parents, the school seemed to trivialize the incident, promising only “disciplinary actions.” Additionally, school officials have yet to address the year-long bullying issue that led to the assault on Jimenez.

“We are investigating and following up on this incident working directly with the Union City Police Department, and taking disciplinary actions,” the school wrote in an email. “We believe this incident to be between the two Logan students and does not appear to involve any other Logan students.”

The family has since pulled their daughter out of the school and is considering hiring an attorney to pursue legal action against the school. They have also established a GoFundMe page to assist with Jimenez’s medical expenses.

Police have arrested one of the teenagers and charged her with battery and serious bodily injury. However, there has been no report on whether the second teen involved in the attack will receive criminal charges.

Sadly, due to a school’s inaction, an innocent family was forced to remove their child in order to protect her from serious bullying. Incredibly, it took a serious assault on the student’s mother and possible legal action to even get the school’s attention on the matter.
