Suspect Throws EXPLOSIVES Into Home, Yard Sign Made Him A Target

A man and his girlfriend were enjoying a quiet night at home when it was disrupted in a big way, and it was all caught on video. A suspect threw explosives into the home, but more shocking than the footage of the incident is the owner’s belief that the attack was motivated by a yard sign that made him a target.

A St. Clair Shores, Michigan homeowner, who wishes to remain unidentified for his own safety, was upstairs with his girlfriend just after midnight on a Saturday when their quiet night at home was disrupted in a big way as he watched TV and his unsuspecting girlfriend slept next to him in the master bedroom.

Suddenly, the man heard two loud explosions, causing him to rush downstairs to see what had happened, but nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to discover. “Smoke was filling the house,” the unnamed St. Clair Shores, Michigan homeowner recalled. “I went [back] up, told her to get out [of] the house, ‘Grab the dog and get out of the house,'” he added, referring to his girlfriend, who was home and inside the house with him at the time of the attack.

“The explosion went off and it kind of sounded like a transformer, I guess, from a power line, and then another explosion went off and it shook the house,” added the homeowner, who quickly realized that it was something much worse — his home had been hit with explosives. “We came out and there was a big mess here,” the homeowner said. “Everything was smoking, and I got on the phone and called 911 and they showed up pretty quick,” he added.

“When we came outside, we noticed the whole window, it was completely blown out, smoke coming out. I didn’t know if the house was on fire or what was going on,” the Macomb County man continued. “I [saw] a truck racing down the road. When the police showed up, they went in, luckily it didn’t catch fire, but the actual implosion of the mortar — it did some serious damage.”

Indeed, inside the home, there was extensive damage from the explosion. Drywall was blown out, shattered glass covered the floor, and there were even cracks in the ceiling. The explosion also left a large hole in his living room floor. Making matters worse, the homeowner believes he was targeted because of his “avid” support for President Donald Trump and a sign that he had in his yard during the contentious 2020 election, which read, “Trump 2020, F*** Your Feelings.”

“Some people say because I’m a pretty avid Trump Supporter,” he noted. “I always have my sign up.”

Surveillance footage from a home security video, obtained by Fox 2 Detroit and Click On Detroit, showed a suspect exiting a truck and running up to the house with an explosive in his hand. He is then seen launching the explosive through a front window of the home before returning to his truck.

Additional surveillance footage also showed a second explosive being thrown into the homeowner’s driveway, damaging his girlfriend’s nearby car. According to the homeowner, the explosions were heard all around the neighborhood. “My neighbor came over from across the street and he said two blocks over they called him and said, ‘What the hell happened?’ They thought a bomb went off,” he said.

Believing that he was targeted due to his open support of President Donald Trump, the homeowner decided to offer a $10,000 reward for pertinent information related to the perpetrators of the attack. “It’s worth it to me to find out who’s trying to catch my house on fire and possibly kill me,” he said. “We were really scared. I mean when you feel your house shake and explode and smoke, you don’t know what’s going on.”

Of course, no motive was officially been determined as police continued to investigate the incident, according to The Blaze. Whatever the reason for it, though, there is absolutely no justification for this terrible act of violence. The perpetrator(s) must be apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Regardless of political views, this should disgust decent people on both sides.

The St. Clair Shores, Michigan homeowner and his girlfriend could have been killed, and the person or persons responsible need to be behind bars. If the allegations are true and the sign is the reason for the attack, that makes the behavior all the more reprehensible. Political signs are nothing new — but this level of disdain and violence most certainly is, and it needs to be stopped. Quite frankly, if a campaign sign makes you want to blow up innocent people, the candidate isn’t the problem, you are.
