A student’s mother attempted to bring some extremely questionable cookies to a 2nd-grade classroom. When the teacher rejected them, here’s how the mom responded. Did the teacher make the right call?
The parent of a 2nd-grade student brought some very questionable vagina cookies to her child’s class, leaving many to wonder what she could have been thinking. However, she’d make that clear with her response to the teacher’s rejection of her confections. The vagina cookies, along with the mother’s response, were so strange that a friend of the teacher couldn’t help but to share her story on Reddit.
Posting on behalf of the teacher, Reddit user JPstudly explained that the educator had asked for a volunteer parent to bring snacks in for her students each week to reward good behavior. This particular week, a parent, only identified by the pseudonym Autumn, volunteered to bake some cookies and bring them to the class. When Autumn delivered the cookies, she told the teacher to use them as an opportunity to teach her students about vaginas. What do cookies have to do with vaginas? The teacher was about to find out.
“Baffled and completely caught off guard, I slowly peel the aluminum foil off the pan to behold a plethora of sugar cookie and frosting vaginas,” the teacher recalled, describing the moment she laid eyes on the vagina cookies. “Not just any old vagina, but ALL KINDS OF VAGINAS. There were small, puffy, white, brown, shaved, bald, and even a fire crotch with beef curtains,” she continued.
“Perplexed, I give the parent the most professional look I can muster and quietly reply ‘I’m sorry Autumn, but I can’t give these to my students. This just isn’t appropriate,’” the teacher added, reminding the reader that these vagina cookies were intended for 2nd-graders — something most parents wouldn’t approve of. That’s when things got ugly — even uglier than the vagina cookies themselves.
Irate that her donation of vagina cookies was being turned down, Autumn snapped back and said the teacher “should be proud of [her] vagina,” before accusing her of “settling for [a] woman’s role in life.” What’s worse, all of this happened in front of the young, impressionable students.
The teacher said she was left with no choice but to stand and stare at the woman as the word “vagina” was yelled repeatedly in front of the seven- and eight-year-old, 2nd-grade kids. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the outraged mother stormed out of the class, leaving the vagina cookies on the teacher’s desk. But, things were far from over.
Not only would the teacher be bombarded by phone calls and emails from concerned parents who wanted to know why their child learned the word “vagina” in the classroom earlier that day, the teacher received a scathing email from Autumn later that night.
The obviously still irritated mother began by calling the teacher “closed minded” and again scolded her for “settling for less” by taking a teaching job, which she refers to as a woman’s job, although she did so with a grammatical error, which had to be a little amusing to the teacher.
Angry Autumn further alleged that the teacher was depriving the 2nd-grade students the opportunity to “know the human body,” which is a beautiful thing. She added that women need to stand together and “inform people about the vagina and how to please it.” Even those who agree with that statement would have a hard time applying it to seven- and eight-year-olds, though.
Then came the threats and backlash, which probably didn’t have the impact that Autumn was hoping for.
Likely much to the teacher’s relief, the mother goes on to say that she will not be participating in the classroom activity anymore and will even attempt to have her child removed from the class due to the “lack of disrespect” she was shown over her vagina cookies — again making an error that has many readers saying that this is a mom who needs to focus more on basic reading, writing, and arithmetic rather than anatomy and home economics.
As if that’s not bad enough, Autumn really delivers a low blow that many say went too far when she closes the email by saying, “I hope you end up with an abusive husband that beats on you every night” — all of this because a teacher decided that feeding 2nd-graders vagina cookies probably wasn’t a good idea or something the majority of their parents would appreciate.
