When maintenance to fully abled women will be granted by default in matrimonial battles, there is no need for anyone to work or become self dependent. In many cases we see, separated women allege some of the worst charges against their husbands at court and also avail monthly maintenance while indulging into adultery parallely.
However, in one such case below reported from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the woman was not just having an affair while living off ex-husband’s maintenance, but also secretly married to her paramour without divorce from the first husband.
Case:
A woman who had separated from her husband was receiving a sum of Rs 5,000 every month as maintenance. However, she went ahead and married another man, eventhough she continued accepting monthly allowance from first husband.
When the aggrieved man got suspicious of his former wife’s actions, he approached the cops. The man took three long years to get a court order against the fraudulent wife and her father.

The couple was married and according to the husband, the wife would constantly fight with him and not give him any support. On one occasion after a fight, the woman left her matrimonial home and went to her father’s place. After that, she applied for maintenance in family court and was awarded Rs 5,000 per month.
In 2017, Shehzad (husband) became suspicious that his estranged wife was cheating on him and possibly also got re-married to another man. Going by his intuition, he commenced search for evidences to be handed over to court.
After several months of going around to gather proofs, the husband’s learnings had indeed come true. He laid his hands on the evidence of his wife’s second marriage, without being divorced. She was also happily taking maintenance from him parallely.
The second husband and the woman were living together in Maharashtra and after three years, the court declared the woman and her father guilty. The police have been instructed to file a case against them.
