After being invited to present a storytime at a public library, a children’s author sat down to read her own recently published book. However, once parents heard what she was reading to “white” children, it immediately sparked an uproar.
Far-left activist Anastasia Higginbotham realized that there is money to be made in advertising identity politics to young children. Having written children’s tomes including “Tell Me About Sex, Grandma!” and “Death Is Stupid,” the author knew there was still a trending political topic that hasn’t yet been peddled to youths as widely as it could be.
In an attempt to indoctrinate young minds, Higginbotham penned what is perhaps her most politically-charged book yet. Seizing the opportunity for fame and glory, she then hit the road, hawking her latest work in libraries across the United States.
At an earlier age, children are being taught to embrace sexuality and gender identity while, at the same time, being scolded and guilted for other immutable characteristics. Disturbingly, this indoctrination has also seen a hefty profit in the children’s book market.
According to Fox News, Higginbotham has embarked on a library tour, in which she hosts a storytime to children with her book “Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness,” which shames white children for the color of their skin.
“I’m not afraid to look at a painful history, a history in which people who look like me did things they never should have done. I want to look at that history,” Higginbotham says. “It’s my fight and my liberation that is tied up in black liberation.”
Higginbotham presents herself as a selfless savior of the black community, denigrating so-called “whiteness” while capitalizing on her own race-baiting. She apologizes for and decries her own race, at the same time raking in a comfortable living off of the black populations’ past and current plights, The Jamestown Sun reports.
“As a white child myself, seeing myself as separate from issues of race, seeing racism as a problem happening to someone else, someone else’s fight and seeing myself helpless to do anything about that, that has served the status quo,” she says. “There’s a lot of this clouding our thinking that tells us we can’t do anything about it.”
Apparently, Higginbotham seems to whole-heartedly believe that children have been “told” that they are good and valuable as human beings because they are white. Subsequently, she seeks to reeducate these supposed racists-in-training that they have oppressed minorities simply by being born with a fairer skin tone.
“Every chance we look for an opportunity to let them know that white superiority is a lie, that white innocence is a lie,” she says about her family. “Question everything you’re being told about your goodness and your value as a white person.”
Of course, Higginbotham doesn’t merely talk about virtue-signaling. In fact, she lugs around a cardboard cutout of none other than former-NFL player and anti-law enforcement activist Colin Kaepernick. She uses the display to push the narrative that black Americans are being systematically targeted by police. In reality, officers are far less likely to use lethal force on black suspects, possibly out of fear of being accused of racism.
“Colin Kaepernick kneels for justice; he kneels for an end to police brutality; he kneels for equity in education and economic justice,” she says. “So I’m going to kneel next to him as I read.”
Sadly, Higginbotham’s teachings contradict everything for which great civil rights leaders fought. Holding a certain group of people responsible for the actions of past generations is a recipe for disaster, as an oppressed people cannot possibly be raised up by holding others down.
Higginbotham believes that teaching white children to reject their race and heritage will someday change our nation’s values. Disturbingly, she’s right. If our children are taught to see anyone, including themselves, as guilty solely because of immutable characteristics with which they were born, racial superiority and racism will continue to rise on all fronts.
Teaching children that they are born oppressors or victims will only lead to hatred of others. Instead, children should be taught that these genetic factors are irrelevant to their success because America is the freest country in history. Teaching children that they aren’t limited by their genetics empowers them with a motivation that propels them to heights they will never reach if they are taught to believe they are either guilty or victimized.
