Son Sees Stepdad Hit His Mom, Makes Sure He’ll Never Do It Again

When a protective son found out that a man had hit his mother, he made sure that the abuser would never have the opportunity to do it again. It was all captured on video.

According to Rare, an altercation was caught on video between a woman, her protective son and daughter, and her new husband, who is the children’s stepfather. It looks to have taken place on the side of the road in what otherwise would have been a quiet residential neighborhood.

Apparently, the mother and stepdad had been fighting about something before the camera started rolling. Their argument escalated, ultimately turning physical, with the stepdad hitting his wife in the face. You can see the woman’s head jerk to one side as she covers the side of her face with one hand.

That’s when her son stepped in to even the odds, dishing out one solid punch that left his stepdad unconscious on the cold, hard ground. “Shut the f*ck up!” the son yelled at his stepfather before calling him a “motherf*cker,” clearly livid that a grown man would hit his beloved mother.

It is clear that this was not the first time that the stepdad had hit the boy’s mother, because after the boy punches his lights out, he says, “I f*cking told you!” Apparently, the last time this happened the boy had let his stepdad off with a warning, but after witnessing him get physical with his mother again, he had had enough and decided to take matters into his own hands, giving the abuser a taste of his own medicine.

Then, already having forgiven the man who just moments before assaulted her in front of her children, the mother rushes over to her husband, who is still passed out on the ground. She kneels beside him, ignoring her own wounds to tend to him as her kids watch in disbelief. “Mama, he hit you,” her daughter exclaims, clearly alarmed that she would run to comfort him so quickly. Meanwhile, the son keeps the insults coming, shouting, “You f*cking b*tch,” and, “I f*cking told you.”

Unfortunately, domestic abuse is all too common these days, and many cases are not reported until it’s already too late. This is an epidemic that spans all demographics and ethnic backgrounds — you never know who could be silently suffering behind closed doors, too afraid to stand up for themselves or to report their abuser.

Moreover, it is not very common for abusers to instantly change their behavior when it has become a pattern, as the Mayo Clinic notes. Although some relationships are obviously abusive from the start, abuse often begins subtly and gets worse over time. You might be experiencing domestic violence if you’re in a relationship with someone who:

  • Calls you names, insults you or puts you down
  • Prevents or discourages you from going to work or school or seeing family members or friends
  • Tries to control how you spend money, where you go, what medicines you take or what you wear
  • Acts jealous or possessive or constantly accuses you of being unfaithful
  • Gets angry when drinking alcohol or using drugs
  • Threatens you with violence or a weapon
  • Hits, kicks, shoves, slaps, chokes or otherwise hurts you, your children or your pets
  • Forces you to have sex or engage in sexual acts against your will
  • Blames you for his or her violent behavior or tells you that you deserve it

Hopefully, this was the last altercation between the stepdad and the boy’s mother before she cut him loose. It looks like her protective son taught the man a much-needed lesson that he won’t soon forget.
