Microsoft Extends the Life of Old Windows 10 Versions

Microsoft has recently announced that some specific Windows 10 versions will continue to receive updates due to the challenges that organizations face these days due to the ongoing health crisis.

Because many administrators are working from home, upgrading entire fleets of devices to newer Windows 10 versions might be more difficult, so Microsoft is extending the life of some releases specifically to provide everyone with more time to complete the migration.

Windows 10 version 1709 was originally supposed to reach the end of support for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise on April 14, but Microsoft says it will now continue to ship updates until October 13, 2020.

Furthermore, Windows 10 version 1809, which for home users was projected to be discontinued next month, will get updates for Home, Pro, Pro for Education, Pro for Workstations, and IoT Core until November 10, 2020.
