- Josh Brolin wore a motion-capture suit to film his role as the "Avengers: Infinity War" villain, Thanos.
- It looks kind of silly.
- New behind-the-scenes videos from "Avengers: Infinity War" show that it was even funnier than we first thought.
- For scenes at both the start and end of "Infinity War," Brolin wore a giant cutout of Thanos' head and shoulders that was affixed to his suit.
- "Avengers: Infinity War" will be available on digital HD July 31.
Thanos may have been the most feared villain in the galaxy in "Avengers: Infinity War," but on set, Josh Brolin looked a little less threatening.
We've seen behind-the-scenes photos of Brolin on set before in a multi-colored motion capture suit, but none of them are quite like this.
In addition to wearing the special suit, new behind-the-scenes videos from iO9 and IGN shows the actor sometimes wore a contraption that showed a cutout of Thanos' head and shoulders above his own. This is so the actors have a reference point for where they should look while performing.
It looks ridiculously hilarious.
Let's take a closer look at that.
Brolin also wore the cutout during the big fight scene near the movie's end on Titan, according to a behind-the-scenes video from IGN.
Here's a better look at Brolin:
You have to give Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Robert Downey Jr., and anyone else acting across Brolin some credit for being able to accomplish anything serious during these scenes.
A similar fixture was used filming the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" for scenes with Groot.
Don't feel too bad for Brolin. He wasn't wearing that Thanos cutout the entire time he was filming.
He just had a few different colorful suits with cameras.
This purple one's a favorite.
