- Taylor Swift is facing backlash after the release of her new video for "Delicate."
- Twitter users have pointed out what they think are similarities between Swift's new video and an ad for clothing brand Kenzo released in 2016.
- People think the setting, dance moves, and facial expressions are extremely similar.
Fans were excited when Taylor Swift finally dropped the video for her latest single "Delicate" on Sunday night, but the singer also sparked some controversy when people pointed out what they thought were similarities between the video and an ad for clothing brand Kenzo released in 2016.
The Joseph Kahn-directed "Delicate" video features Taylor Swift performing interpretive-style dance moves and pulling silly faces around the corridors of a fancy building in the first half. She then moves on to other locations such as a subway station and a rainy sidewalk, where she remains invisible to others around her.
The Spike Jonze-directed Kenzo World Fragrance ad features actress Margaret Qualley performing interpretive-style dance moves and pulling silly faces around the corridors of a fancy building for the duration of the video.
Twitter users were quick to point out what they thought were similarities between the two videos, calling Swift's music video "the poor man's version" of the Kenzo ad.

Anybody else notice that the @taylorswift13 "Delicate" music video ripped off Spike Jonze's Kenzo video? It's almost beat-for-beat, just with worse dancing. pic.twitter.com/0hGKxBTn22

So it’s just the Kenzo perfume ad, but with Taylor Swift? #Delicate pic.twitter.com/oY8hTCdPnz

The new @taylorswift13 Delicate music video is such an insanely blatant copy/rip-off of the Spike Jonze Kenzo World commercial. The setting, colour palette, choreography, everything.

Not that I’m not a fan of the new Taylor Swift vid, and Dedicate is actually a bop but she stole the kenzo advert. @dellaeithne

Though the Swift video features more of a plot and several different locations, most of the observations are comparing Swift's jerky and disjointed dance moves to those performed by Qualley in the Kenzo ad.
There are also several comparisons to the facial expressions Swift makes that have already launched a meme that's taking over the internet.
Representatives for Kenzo and Joseph Kahn did not immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.
